While he was staring at the floor, occasionally Squall would start rocking and muttering to himself.
"I'm... all alone, Sis. But I can make it on my own."
Rinoa
Rinoa froze, flashlight held firmly on the wall opposite.
"Did anyone else hear something?" she asked.
It was faint. She wasn't sure that she heard anything, not for certain. But the hands had mentioned others down here ...
Scully
Scully turned in a circle, the light circling with her, and paused as she faced the same direction. "Yes. It's -- I'm not sure what, but it's not just water dripping." She took a breath, then a tentative step in that direction. "Louder this way, I think?"
Jason
"I heard something too," Jason said, looking around as well as he listened for the sound to repeat. "I don't know if it was a good sound or not though."
Squall
Voices... there were voices. Not his own worthless voice, and not his useless cellmates', either. Just hallucinations, figments of his imagination. Fragments, created by that stupid moronic part of him that believed in lies like hope.
Squall pulled at his hair and moaned, softly.
Aphrodite
'Dite frowned, but nodded. "I hear it too. Not quite a voice, but more like a moan? Which I guess is made with a voice, so . . . yeah." She pointed with her sword, slightly more carefully this time. "Off we go. Look for doors or something."
Rinoa
"They might be on the floor again," Rinoa said. Okay, maybe she was stating the obvious. Look, there were voices down here. People, in pits. That bastard. But voices meant they were still alive.
"There has to be something."
Scully
Scully was still moving forward, flashlight sweeping forward, back, and up-- she didn't trust the goblins not to jump out at them from a corner or some kind of air-duct-- and called forward, more loudly, "Hello? Can you hear us? Someone?" She paused and added in a normal tone, "The goblins know we're down here anyway. Hello!"
Kennedy
Kennedy didn't have a flashlight, but she did have her phone-- which, while utterly useless for any form of communication right now, did a nice job in a pinch as a makeshift light source.
She had her sword in one hand and the phone held up in the other.
"We might be shit out of luck for doors," she said after a few moments. "Too bad we left that other one behind, it was pretty handy... no pun intended."
