In Jareth's Castle, Saturday Afternooon
Well... That hadn't gone quite as planned. The right words have been said, and Jareth has simply laughed in the faces of our would-be rescuers. What now? Three challenges? That wasn't in any of the clues! Play fair, Goblin King!
Then again, saying, "It isn't fair" never really seems to do anybody any good in here anyhow, does it? Drat.

What was it just?
"I want to see him again. I wish he could be here."
Now she was torn. To be in a place where she was happy and wanted, but never see James again or go back where she almost always felt out of place and knew she'd probably never be allowed to go home again.
"I don't know," she said finally, feeling a bit hopeless. "I don't know what to do."

At least in Fandom she had James for a while longer - until she had to leave or he grew tired of her. Here, if the king tired of her, who knew what would happen.
"I guess..." she rubbed at her face, then carefully put on that air of indifference and superiority that she'd developed to protect herself in just such circumstances like these. "Might as well go back. It's not as if I'm going to achieve anything useful here."

And after a moment, grudgingly, because it was the thing to do and not because she was at all certain she meant it yet. "Thank you."
The "I suppose" she added on mentally probably wasn't completely apparent.
Oh yes, Helen was firmly back behind her abrasive protective shield.
