Outside the Labyrinth

It seemed the time for research and planning was through. In Jareth's address to the island, he gave them twenty-four hours to traverse a Labyrinth that seemed to change on a whim in order to take back the friends that he had stolen.

Team Distraction was entering first. Anyone with as much power as this Jareth seemed to would probably have some nasty surprises in store. They'd go in ahead of the second group to spring as many traps as they could while the other team ghosted in and headed directly to the castle.

Well, that was the plan, anyway. Let's see how long things went as smoothly as our would-be heroes would like.

Meet up, plan, check to make sure you have some supplies. You'll be camping out in the Labyrinth tonight.

Leia wasn't use to roughing it, but she had a feeling she'd better get used to it for the future. She just hoped whatever was making people's powers not work right in the Labyrinth wouldn't affect her blaster as well, because there were some obnoxious goblins that needed shooting inside.

This was probably the first time since coming to Fandom that Jason was grateful he didn't have to rely on powers to fight. After hearing Jareth's message, there was no way he'd have been able to sit inside and do nothing. He hadn't gotten into costume, but he had brought his utility belt, figuring that made him as prepared as he could be. When he saw Leia, he gave her a small smile. "You look ready to take on a kingdom," he said in greeting.

Rinoa was here. Here, and determined. She was a Sorceress. It didn't matter if she couldn't access her powers. She was still a Sorceress, and that meant something. Namely, that no bastard in tight pants was going to kidnap her Knight.

She had, however, volunteered to be the distraction team. Because getting too close to that guy again was just asking for trouble.

She checked her supplies again and looked around at the rest of the group.

'Dite had realized quite a while ago that her powers were wonky. That didn't mean she still didn't try to zap in a chair to sit on before sighing and dropping down on a large stone.

"Stupid goblins, stupid Jareth-guy, stupid tight pants. They probably cut off the flow of blood to his brain, the -- oh." She glanced at the young woman beside her. "Sorry." 'Dite squinted. The woman actually looked more like a teenager. Karla's age, maybe. "You okay?"

Katniss was born for this. Or at least, had trained heavily for this exact sort of thing. Her bow was slung over one shoulder, a backpack beneath it, and she was quietly -- but competently -- checking each of her arrows.

Firekeeper and Blind Seer had seen their own fair share of seiges- from both sides- and so they stood beside their roommate, doing much the same. Or at least, Firekeeper was. Blind Seer had no need for arrows, and his fangs and claws were always ready.

Bruce was happy that he checked the effectiveness of most of the tools in his utility belt last week. This way he had complete confidence in his abilities and his equipment as he hung around the edge of the group. Because of course he couldn't just dive into the middle of the group.

This was actually entirely normal for Jaina by now. She had her lightsaber on her belt and a small pack of what she considered to be the essentials, with a few extras of things because it was hard not to wonder whether everyone would have thought of them. So sue her, she thought of things like the fact that she was traveling with studnts now.

Junk Town

My, isn't that a lovely city of junk? These goblins don't seem all that aggressive, either. No, just the opposite! They're friendly and welcoming, shyly inviting you into their new home. Bits and pieces of Fandom's own junk yard have been incorporated into the bustling village that's been set up. In fact, it looks like that's a Crix-class diplomatic courier shuttle now repurposed into a very nice house. It looks warm, inviting, and even somehow strangely familiar.

Thanks to Jaina's StealthX, she still spent plenty of time in the junkyard these days, so some things did look a little familiar. She was trying to avoid looking around too much and keeping focused on getting as far as possible before it was too late to go on, but that was easier said than done. "This is too strange," she muttered.

Annja was pretty sure that none of this could mean anything good. It was really weird to see a small town looking like it had just suddenly come out of nowhere.

Which, she supposed it probably had as soon as the Labyrinth started eating the island.

She looked around, looking for someplace to get a little warmed up.

Rinoa was cold, though she was trying not to feel it, and inside this weird makeshift house looked warm. It looked cozy, really. And so she was going to poke her head in, but only for a moment. Only because of that music box she spotted in the window. It looked so familiar.

"Excuse me?" she said.

Okay, so the Junk People weren't as helpful as they'd like you to think. Now would probably be a good time to get out of Dodge and press onward again. It's going to be a very long night. A very long night which you might want to hunker down and camp through, or just wander around lost in. After all, that castle is a long way away.

Jaina had brought a glowrod so there was at least light, but at some point she had to stop and say, "We might want to rest a bit. Come sunrise it'll at least be easier to tell which direction we're going."
