Within the Labyrinth, Saturday Morning

After a few hours of sleep, it's time to get going again. Everyone needs to be rescued by this evening, or Jareth gets to keep them all forever! And since this is Team Distraction, it's time to get very loud and very obvious. If everyone in the Labyrinth is focused on what you're up to, the other team will have a much easier time slipping by the goblins and rescuing your friends. So, start smashing things! Sing at the top of your lungs! Be a general nuisance all around the Labyrinth!

Of course, being a distraction usually means being bait. And being bait almost always means being in danger.

But you can handle it! Right?

That was unpleasantly close. And it doesn't look like your troubles have ended there. Because now the gates in front of you are swinging closed to form a hulking mass of metal and mace that steps forward to face you down. WHO GOES?

A robot? Seriously? Fortunately it seemed to be a reletively slow and awkwardly moving robot. If, you know, massive and scary.

"Avon calling!"

Jaina was focused on the robot. She could deal with a robot, already looking for weakenesses.

However, she had to address that comment with a "...What?"

"Well it was either that or; hi have you heard the good news about our lord and savior." And if he'd had any copies of the Watchtower, he'd have thrown those at the robot. Though perhaps even Jareth didn't deserve something like that.

"WHO GOES?" the robot thundered, its voice echoing through the room. The sudden sweep of his mace suggested that he wasn't all that interested in an answer.

Or that he was not a fan of Avon. Whichever.

"People who need to get through," Jaina called. And then she added, "Please," in case that helped.

"I don't think politeness will help our cause," Bruce said, pulling a few throwing stars from his belt. He wasn't sure that anything he had - short of explosives, which he didn't want to start with when dealing in the group - would do any real damage to a robot, but he was prepared to be a nuisance.

Tim ducked and rolled away from the mace and started looking for...well any kind of vulnerability. There had to be a way to get at the gears or something right?

Just to test, he swiped at the robot with his sword. Without it's usual magical properties it was little more than a very strong blade though.

The mace came down again, blocking Tim's attack, the head slamming into the wall and shattering some of the stones. "YOU SHALL NOT PASS."

What? He'd met this wizard once...

"Yeah my math teacher told me that once. Proved her wrong too!" Ow, arms hurting. That thing was better at moving than it looked.

"I think sarcasm's going to work about as well as politeness," Bruce pointed out, backing off and throwing three shuriken at the robot's neck.

Yes, he was being ironic. ~~Doubly so considering the mun's other characters.~~

Two of the shuriken bounced off the robot's armor, but one landed perfectly, lodging itself right in the joint between the neck and the shoulders. There was an angry screeching sound as a cog tried to turn and was blocked.

Yeah, there was an angry mace coming for you now, Bruce.

Bruce dodged with a backflip, and turned that into a handspring to put a little more distance between himself and the mace. He hoped that getting the robot's attention like that might open up an opportunity for the rest of the group.

The seam the shuriken had entered was now emitting a thick black smoke and the arm itself hung at the robot's side, useless. The robot began flailing around with the mace, hoping to start driving people back, and raised up one huge foot to stomp on anyone unlucky enough to be underfoot.

While that was going on, a small goblin suddenly poked his head out from behind the robot's enormous head and began sneaking down towards the shoulder in question.

Well, Jaina figured that was her cue. If there was anything big and somewhat monstery, of course she had to climb it. It was a thing. So that would be her leaping onto the one huge foot in order to start scaling up its leg.

While Jaina focused on the robot itself, Bruce reached into his utility belt and grabbed a bola. He spun it quickly and launched it toward the exposed goblin moving toward the shoulder, hoping to incapacitate it from a distance.

Leia hesitated a fraction of a second -- she didn't want to take a shot with her future alternative universe daughter on the robot -- but she had enough confidence in her skills that she wasn't too worried about it. She aimed high, for the head.

The bola wrapped around the legs of the crawling goblin, dragging him off the shoulder with a strangled cry. At that, another goblin peeked out from behind the head and called, "Jiggle the leg. Jiggle the left leg, qui--" before a blaster bolt took him out, too.

There was a muffled squeal, and slowly the left leg began to rise.

Jaina was doing her best to ignore any firing going on, because she didn't think anyone should stop. Realizing something was going on with the leg, she did try to hurry her climb, though, stabbing into the robot with her lightsaber as she went. Once the robot tried to crush anyone, she wasn't messing around.

Bruce reached into his back pouch and grabbed his grapple line. Using a metal stake, he secured one end of the rope to the floor before getting the grapple end spinning and throwing it at the mace, all in an attempt to limit its range of motion and any potential damage as it flailed.

The lightsaber went right through the metal of the robot like a hot knife through butter, slicing through steam lines and oil pumps. The robot came to a shuddering halt as the gears ground together or were cut in two, its left foot still high in the air.

Then Bruce grappled the mace. It tried to release the mace before the downward momentum got to be too much...

"Everyone get clear! It looks like it's coming down!" Bruce yelled because someone had to. It was required in these kinds of situations.

Jaina disengaged her lightsaber, jumping off the robot. Usually she was more graceful, but she still managed to tuck herself into a somersault so that she could flip to her feet out of the way of any falling robots.

Leia darted backwards, watching the teetering robot and trying to gauge where it would fall while keeping an eye on Jaina at the same time. If any goblins tried to jump free, she was ready to shoot them.

Tim had been in the middle of chopping at the thing's wrist when the 'timber'call came. He leaped away, not gracefully, but quickly and effectively.
