The Goblin City, Saturday Afternoon

Somewhere past the giant robots, past the oubliettes and the twisting messes of hedges and woods, there was a wall. This would not be a remarkable discovery, given how the entire Labyrinth seemed to consist of nothing but walls, granted. But this wall was decidedly different. This wall was all that stood between the Distraction Team and the Goblin City. And, judging by the fact that the sentries looking down at the Fandomites from the top of the stonework still seemed to be in one piece, it seemed as though their early start meant that they had gotten here before Team Jareth. All the better, because the distraction that they were going to provide now was what was going to ensure that the second group coming would be able to slip through unharmed, in order to get to the rest of the kidnapped students being held within the confines of the castle in the middle of town.

Judging by the goblins and their wild assortment of weapons, all congregating along the wall on the outskirts of the city, the Distraction Team was going to have their hands quite full.

[Set after this and this! For Team Distraction to get their all-purpose smashy goblin fighty on! If any of you need an NPC for this, please, visit us over at this post and we'll send somebody by as soon as we can!]

A wall topped with goblins. Or as Leia liked to call it -- target practice. She was firing away, trying to take a bunch of them down.

Squall looked up at the goblins, evaluating their defenses. They didn't look so tough, actually. If he just had a weapon, maybe he'd be able to mount a frontal assault.

Speaking of which ...

"I brought you a present," Rinoa said. And with that, she produced his gunblade, offering it to him hilt-first.

"I found it on the beach," she said. "Shouldn't leave it lying around. Something could happen to it."

Don't you scare me like that again went unsaid.

That was the best present anyone had ever gotten him. He took his gunblade with a smile and swung it a few times just to savor the feel of it in his hand.

Then he nodded at Rinoa and ran straight at the wall. With enough momentum, he was able to scale the wall one-handed, swinging his blade over his head with the other hand to fend off attacks.
