Silent Hill: Day 3

The Grand Hotel by morning is only marginally less eerie than it is by night. Outside, though, under the falling ash, there's a piece of Fandom you're supposed to be looking for, right?

[OOC: OPEN, last Silent Hill post, and up early for great... me not having to wake up until noon. Warning, many icons, links, and...pretty much the entire adventure will be understandably squicky. Welcome to horrorland!]

Didi silently rolled off the bed and away from Jono and went into the bathroom. After an agonizingly long moment, she got a little rusty water out of the tap -- she wouldn't drink it, but it was enough to tame her hair and wash away the last of her eye make-up.

She looked in the cloudy mirror. Still herself. Still Death, even if she didn't feel much like her. This was nothing.

And then she squared her shoulders and moved on to face the day.

Bod had slept maybe twenty minutes last night. He was glad to wake up though, glad that he wasn't dead even if he hurt all over. His poor burned leg was going to ache for awhile.

Still, he was alive and they'd had news from the island yesterday so he felt slightly better about things than before.

Leia didn't sleep much; every little sound woke her up. When she finally rose for the day she made sure Tahiri hadn't disappeared during the night, then set about combing her hair with her fingers and braiding it tightly so that it wouldn't get in the way today.

Sleep was a bit of a myth around here. Effy had dozed of briefly at some point, but it was shortlived, and she was soon back up and staring off into space until she registered other people moving around and picked herself up to find them.

Katniss had managed to sleep about an hour, over the course of the night. Her head was aching, as was the rest of her, but she kept reminding herself that she had survived the arena. She had made it out of worse.

She'd make it out of this, too.

Azula rose from where she slumbered. There would be a long bath and much pampering when they return to Fandom. First, they need to get out of here.

Helen got up, ran her fingers through her hair to try and untangle it a little and headed out to see what the others were up to.

Sleep had been a necessity, though she'd not managed it for long or could call it particularly restful.

Taking the time to deliberately get up slowly--she ached, she brooded, she didn't want to get up--Ino eventually made it downstairs.

Francine hadn't managed to sleep at all in the night, the room too dark and her mind too full of what she'd seen and felt in the school the previous day.

When she heard noises that sounded more human than last night's bumps and moans, it didn't wake her, but it did get her up and moving too, a fact for which her achy back would thank her later on.

Jono was not going to be facing today with a smile on his face and a spring in his step, no. But he wasn't about to stay inside to play sitting duck again, either. He'd made promises to people, that he'd do something, that he'd get them the hell out of there if it was at all in his power to do so.

... And it was entirely possible that he'd made those promises just as much for their sake as he had to give himself an excuse not to give up.

He didn't care what he looked like, anymore. He didn't care who stared or who ran or who followed. If the tears were leading that way, then that was the way he was heading.

Even with as tired and sore as he was, seeing those out of place rips gave Bod a little bit of energy. They'd appeared on the island, they were here so maybe there was a connection.

Or maybe he was just so tired, his brain was stretching for reasons to not give up. He was still standing though and still pushing so he wasn't there yet.

Azula mentioned to Ino how looking for the items might be something akin to finding a needle in a haystack but then again there were days when luck smiles on you. She moved toward the church with purpose but also keeping in my to be cautious. Luck goes both ways.

Since the rips seemed to be leading the way, Helen followed.

Carefully.

Back in the ash again. Effy wasn't really injured, aside from a few scrapes and bruises, but she ached and exhaustion of two nights with barely sleep was starting to catch up with her. Starting to drag her feet as she walked, giving the straggling trail of tears in reality a wide berth while she followed them.

Ino eyed the tears very very dubiously--on one hand, they could lead to a way out, on the other... they could make this worse.

What if they landed in a world even worse than this one??

Or if it was a trap.

She followed them, but with all the caution she had at her disposal.

Tahiri, the metal pipe from yesterday still clutched in one hand, was trying to tail the group and keep an eye on everyone, keep an eye out for trouble. The tears in reality, while they did seem to be pointing the way, still felt like Trouble, yes, capitalized, and she wasn't about to let anyone of their group get lost.

. . . and she understood, now, how Anakin had felt at Myrkr.

Didi followed quietly along, hands in her pockets. She eyed the rips uneasily. If one sucked her in, who knew where she'd end up?

She tried to remain confident that they'd find the things they needed. It was almost, but not quite, a losing battle.
