FALLOUTVERSE - Capital Wasteland into Vault 106 - DAY THREE
For a moment, it seemed almost like a rustic scene: a herd of calm, two-headed cows ambled idly past Fandom's camping spot, and took up a position to graze off what little grass managed to wrestle itself loose from the ruined soil, just a few feet away.
But overnight, the cracks had increased in size, cutting through the sky. Looking upwards now, it was almost as if whatever location they were pulled towards had a halo, a small ring of friendly skies from which the blackness shot out in several directions.
Furthermore, though, this was Radscorpion country, and the people who travelled here now would do best to watch their steps...
And after that, it was on to a small hidden door in the middle of nowhere - behind which hid Vault 106.
[[wait for the ocd up! ]]

Capital Wasteland
As always, watch out for radscorpions, mirelurks, or worse.
[[ make your own ocd, as always. here's your last chance to poke around the wasteland! ]]
Wake Up and Break Up Camp
Re: Wake Up and Break Up Camp
He'd had vaguely distorted dreams of Mirelurks when he did dream, anyway; he'd rather not return to that.
He got up, taking his small collection of Mirelurk cakes and Iguana meat with him, and went to distribute it to anyone who looked hungry.

At least, she hoped it was only drool.
She got to her feet carefully and (leaving the tire iron where it was for the moment) started going through some calisthenics. If today was another day of walking and hitting things with a tire iron -- which was exactly her idea of fun, no lie -- she didn't want her muscles to seize up on her.

He could feel exhausted to his bones but he couldn't deal with that now. He'd seen Mirelurks last night, dealt with a few of them with the help of the stolen gun and was now seeing them behind his eyes.
Great. More fodder for nightmares. Nonetheless, he was awake.

And, you know, he was killing anything big and ugly that got too close to the camp, but that was more like a happy little afterthought. Monsters!
Re: Wake Up and Break Up Camp
She'd spent the night occasionally wandering around the perimeter of the camp, and sometimes watching her classmates sleep. It was boring, but it passed the time.

His first task, this morning, was to carefully extract tiny rocks from his skin, from where they'd dug into him in his sleep.

She stretched a bit, in an attempt to get rid of the stiff feeling in her arms. She hadn't slept in the most comfortable of positions. Ow.

The Entrance to Vault 106
Behind it is a large cave... and at the end, the large, open, coglike door of a Vault.

Vault 106
Unfortunately, there is something in the air... so be careful: your best friend might suddenly start looking like that bully that tried to beat you up in fourth grade, or that really evil bad guy that tried to have you executed in public... the last thing we need is a bloody end.
The last person to come through here didn’t do a very bang-up job of clean-up, either. So nevermind your own head: you have to be wary of any insane vault dwellers that might want to try to attack you with a lead pipe or a sledgehammer.
[[ hallucinations can go as far as you’d like: your character can just hallucinate the walls being clean, or they can start seeing relatives, or imagining they’re being attacked by clones of a friend. Hallucinations only last a minute or two, the frequency is up to you ]]

Vault 106 - Science Labs
There are a lot of twisting turns and stairs here, but slowly but surely, the only available paths wind up leading down, down...
Past a few more insane survivors, who might be lurking where you least expect it.
[[ detailed description on the files on the computers by request, if you want your character to take a poke at it. ]]

Vaul 106 - Winding Hallways
But you have to make it through without losing it or getting your brains bashed out with a lead pipe, first.

A Cave Behind Vault 106
It's metal, rounded and jagged, and humming with some unnatural power--
And once anyone from Fandom approaches, they might find themselves suddenly somewhere altogether more familiar.
[[ First person to tag in can touch the item; the rest of you can ping here to react to being pulled home ]]
Re: A Cave Behind Vault 106
Glowing things that were crammed into the rock walls, like some sort of otherworldly beacon calling them home?
Hey, Reno was down with that.
And so, nodding a little to himself as though he'd just committed himself to picking up the Holy Grail, Reno took a breath, stepped forward, and reached out his hand toward the missing piece. He'd had a good time this weekend, overall, but it was time to go home.
[I don't want to step on any toes, but this post has been up for 13 hours, so I figure it's okay to snag by now.]
OOC 1
Re: OOC 1
Since Emma does not breathe right now, would she be unaffected (and therefore tempted to smack the hallucinating people) by the air in the Vault? Or would it permeate even her self-contained system?
Re: OOC 1
OOC 2
Also, anyone who's curious can get a better look at what the inside of Vault 106 is like here. Warning, though. That place scares the hell out of me. Or you can hit up the Vault 106 entry on the Fallout: High Octane Nightmare Fuel page at TV tropes. (I know, a different kind of horror; also, be warned that this can be a very creepy game in a slightly different way than SH and Bioshock, so 'nightmare fuel' means nightmare fuel)
And in case it helps: IG, the hallucinations the main character has involve being attacked by childhood friends, seeing everything in a purple light, doubles and triples of friends and family, rooms being upside down, visions of the vault before it got ruined - clean walls, tables being upright, all that - and messages to himself on the computer terminal.
